Built in the early 1900's - was sent from England in kit form and was
then built on Hazenjact farm
The demand for ostrich feathers in the early 1900's was so great that
one feather would reach £100 on the overseas market. Of course the local farmers became exceptionally
wealthy and during this period these OSTRICH FEATHER PALACES were built. Few
of them remain. This one has National Monument status.
In 2005 the farm was bought by Bradley Sole and 30 hectors started planning a guest farm
The guest farm is situated 22km from Oudtshoorn and 14km from De Rust on the N12 Route 62
